Most local business websites don't have a traffic problem — they have a conversion problem. Here's how to fix it.
A visitor should know what you do, where you do it and what to do next within five seconds of landing. If your headline says 'Welcome to our website', it's costing you enquiries.
Every page needs one obvious next step — usually 'Book a call' or 'Get a quote'. Multiple competing buttons split attention and reduce action. Repeat the same call-to-action at the top, middle and bottom.
For local businesses, a tappable phone number in the header converts better than almost anything else. On mobile it should be one thumb-tap away at all times.
Reviews, real photos, case studies and credentials do the persuading for you. A testimonial next to your call-to-action can lift conversions measurably — put proof where decisions happen.
Every extra field costs completions. Name, contact detail, and one open question is usually enough. You can qualify on the phone.
